3.5-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte early Monday, Sept. 2. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 32 kilometers southeast of General Luna at 2:53 a.m. Depth of focus was 2 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Death toll in plane crash in Calamba, Laguna rises to 9

Two injured (Eagle News)–Nine people were killed while two others were hurt after a plane crashed in a private resort in Calamba, Laguna on Sunday, Sept. 1. Plane crashes in private resort in Calamba, Laguna

At least two reported injured (Eagle News)–A private plane crashed in Calamba, Laguna on Sunday, Sept. 1. Two people were reportedly  injured after the two-seater plane crashed at Agojo private resort in Purok 6, Miramonte Subdivision, Barangay Pansol around 3 p.m. The crash caused an explosion and a fire, a police report said. Authorities are still probing the incident.      

4.5-magnitude quake strikes off Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Sunday, Sept. 1. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 35 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 7:48 a.m. Depth of focus was 13 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

JUST IN: 5.1-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 5.1-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Saturday, Aug. 31. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 10 kilometers southeast of Baculin at 9:02 p.m. Depth of focus was 25 kilometers. The following intensities were felt: Intensity II – Bislig City, Mati City Instrumental Intensity II – Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental Aftershocks are expected, PHIVOLCS said.

2 hurt in plane crash off Nasugbu, Batangas

(Eagle News)–Two people were injured after a plane crashed off Nasugbu, Batangas on Saturday, Aug. 31. (Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Cagayan on Saturday, Aug. 31. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 37 kilometers northwest of Santa Ana at 3:57 p.m. Depth of focus was 12 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

Rainfall alert hoisted over parts of N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said light to moderate rains are expected over Boliney, Bucloc, Daguioman and Malibcong in Abra due to a low pressure area. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 15 kilometers northwest of Cagwait at 1:24 p.m. Depth of focus was 120 kilometers. (Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Friday, Aug. 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 50 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso at 8:19 a.m. Depth of focus of the quake was 130 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
