Death toll in plane crash in Calamba, Laguna rises to 9

(Eagle News)–Nine people were killed while two others were hurt after a plane crashed in a private resort in Calamba, Laguna on Sunday, Sept. 1.

A police report said the identities of the cadavers recovered from the wreckage of the 11-seater plane that crashed in Agojo Private Resort inside Miramonte Subdivision around 3 p.m. have yet to be established.

The report said, however, that based on the flight manifest,  the  King Air 350 with tail # RPC 2296 and that departed from Dipolog for Manila at 1:40 p.m. was carrying nine passengers identified as the following:

1. Capt Jesus Hernandez (pilot)

2. First Officer Lino Cruz Jr. (co-pilot)

3. Dr. Garret Garcia

4. Kirk Eoin Badiola– Nurse

5. Yamato Togawa- Nurse

6. Ryx Gil Laput

7. Raymond Bulacja

8. Tom Carr- patient

9. Erma Carr – wife of patient

The report said when it crashed in the private resort, John Rey Roca, 19, and Malou Roca, 49, sustained injuries and were rushed to the JP Rizal Hospital.

Authorities are still probing the cause of the crash.
