4.4-magnitude quake strikes off Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Norte on Monday, Sept. 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 82 kilometers southeast of General Luna at 2:10 p.m. Depth of focus was two kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.3-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Monday, Sept. 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 125 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 8:28 a.m. Depth of focus of the quake, which was an aftershock of the 6.4-magnitude quake off Davao Occidental on Sept. 29, was 148 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected over Cagayan, particularly in Alcala, Iguig and Santa Ana. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 31 kilometers northwest of Patnongon at 4:35 a.m. Depth of focus was one kilometer. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 170 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso at 4:21 p.m. Depth of focus was 46 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
