3.1-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Thursday, Oct. 3. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 103 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 6:45 a.m. Depth of focus was 39 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 265 kilometers southwest of Sarangani at 7:26 a.m. Depth of focus was 10 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

PAGASA monitoring LPA off Legazpi City

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration is monitoring a low pressure area off Legazpi. African Swine Fever reaches Pangasinan; at least 71 pigs culled

  (Eagle News) — African Swine Fever (ASF) has reached Pangasinan after blood samples of hogs suspected to be suffering from ASF tested positive for the virus. Fifteen of the 30 blood samples taken from pigs in Barangau Balolin in Mapandan town tested positive for ASF.
