Heavy rainfall warning hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A heavy rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said an orange warning, which means flooding is threatening in these areas, is up over Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga City, Basilan and Sulu. (Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Southern Leyte on Friday, Sept. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 7 kilometers southwest of Hinunangan at 6 a.m. Depth of focus was 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–Police have found the alleged getaway vehicle of the suspects in the ambush of former Pangasinan Gov. Amado Espino Jr. The discovery of the vehicle, which contained  two M-16 rifles, a face mask, clothes, and a cap, among others, took place only minutes after Wednesday’s attack that left, according to the police, one dead and several injured, including Espino. 3.5-magnitude earthquake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Wednesday, Sept. 11. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 161 kilometers southeast of Governor Generoso at 6:24 a.m. PHIVOLCS said the depth of focus of the quake was 103 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
