Heavy rainfall warning hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A heavy rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said an orange warning, which means flooding is threatening in these areas, is up over Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga City, Basilan and Sulu.

A yellow warning, on the other hand, has been hoisted over Zamboanga del Sur and Tawi Tawi.

This means flooding is possible in low-lying areas and near river river channels.

Moderate to occasional heavy rains are expected over Camiguin, Misamis Occidental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, North Cotabato, South Cotabato, and  Sarangani.

PAGASA said these conditions may persist for 2 to 3 hours.
