(Eagle News)–Police have found the alleged getaway vehicle of the suspects in the ambush of former Pangasinan Gov. Amado Espino Jr.

The discovery of the vehicle, which contained  two M-16 rifles, a face mask, clothes, and a cap, among others, took place only minutes after Wednesday’s attack that left, according to the police, one dead and several injured, including Espino.

Senator Richard Gordon earlier said five of Espino’s bodyguards had been killed.

Police identified the fatality as PO3 Richard Esguerra, who was dead on the spot after the assailants peppered their vehicle with bullets in Barangay Magtaking, San Carlos.

Police Capt. Rhea Takderan identified those  injured apart from Espino as driver Agapito Cuizon and police escort Jason Malsi, who were on board a Toyota sport utility vehicle with plate number AAS 8236; and Anthony Columbino and Kevin Marbori, who were on board a separate vehicle, a Toyota Innova.

It was Cuizon who rushed Espino to the hospital, where he is now in safe condition, the Pangasinan public information office said.

The office said, however, that he was is in need of blood transfusion.

Police have launched a dragnet operation against the suspects. With a report from Nora Dominguez
