(Eagle News)–Two of the suspects in the killing of Bien Unido, Bohol Mayor Gisela Bendong-Boniel in 2017 have been arrested.
The police said Lobo Boniel and Allan Delos Reyes Jr. were nabbed on Thursday in the house of Police Patrolman Nico Ababon, Boniel’s cousin-in-law, in Lapu Lapu, Cebu following a tip.
Boniel is the cousin of former Bohol Provincial Board member Niño Rey Boniel, husband of the victim, the alleged mastermind.
A .45 calibre pistol, five live ammunition and a police T-shirt, among others, were confiscated from the patrolman, who is facing harboring a suspect of a crime charges.
The police said nine suspects were involved in the crime.
The victim’s husband has denied any wrongdoing.
