3.2-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Saturday, Jan. 25. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 9:59 a.m., had its epicenter 171 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 50 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

Heavy rainfall warning hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A heavy rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said an orange warning level was up over Surigao del Sur and Surigao del Norte, which means flooding is threatening in  low-lying areas and landslides are possible in mountainous areas. (Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude quake struck Ilocos Norte on Saturday, Jan. 25. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:08 a.m., had its epicenter 15 kilometers northeast of Carasi. It had a depth of focus of one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.7-magnitude quake hits Sarangani

(Eagle News) — A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani on Friday, Jan. 24. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:44 p.m., had its epicenter 183 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 21 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Easterlies affecting S. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

(Eagle News)–The easterlies are affecting the eastern section of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. Rainfall advisory hoisted over parts of N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said light to moderate to at times heavy rains are being experienced over Aurora, Alfonso Castaneda in Nueva Vizcaya, Nagtipunan and Maddela in Quirino and in Dinapigue and Palanan in Isabela. 4.6-magnitude quake hits Sarangani

(Eagle News)–A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani on Friday, Jan. 24. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 5:59 a.m., had its epicenter 337 kilometers southwest of Kiamba. Depth of focus was 519 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

JUST IN: 4.1-magnitude quake hits Masbate

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Masbate on Thursday, Jan. 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 9:05 p.m.,  had its epicenter 18 kilometers northwest of Aroroy. It had a depth of focus of 10 kilometers. An Instrumental Intensity II was felt in Masbate City.

3.6-magnitude quake hits Sarangani

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani on Thursday, Jan. 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 8:54 a.m., had its epicenter 13 kilometers southeast of Glan. Depth of focus was 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

Classes in Batangas colleges, universities outside Taal’s 14-km danger zone to resume tomorrow, Jan. 23

(Eagle News) — Classes in Batangas colleges, technical and vocational schools, and universities outside Taal’s 14-kilometer danger zone will resume on Thursday, Jan. 23. (Eagle News)– A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Pangasinan on Wednesday, Jan. 22. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 11:15 a.m., had its epicenter 96 kilometers southwest of Agno. Depth of focus was 33 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
