Chinese tourist dies as motorbanca capsizes off Boracay

3.3-magnitude quake hits Oriental Mindoro

(Eagle News)-A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Oriental Mindoro on Tuesday, Jan. 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 4:27 a.m., had its epicenter 15 kilometers northeast of Naujan. It had a depth of focus of 17 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

(Eagle News)–Classes on Tuesday, Jan. 21, were cancelled in several areas due to Taal volcano’s activity: All levels Alfonso, Cavite Amadeo, Cavite Batangas In its recent bulletin, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said an alert level 4 remains hoisted over Taal as it continues its intense seismic activity.  

3.8-magnitude quake jolts Batangas

(Eagle News)-A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Monday, Jan. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 12:31 p.m., had its epicenter 78 kilometers northwest of Palauig. It had a depth of focus of 15 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

3.1-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)-A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Monday, Jan. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology  said the quake, which hit at 5:43 a.m., had its epicenter 26 kilometers northeast of General Generoso. Depth of focus was 16 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.3-magnitude quake jolts Batangas

(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Sunday, Jan. 19. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 8:23 p.m., had its epicenter five kilometers southwest of Mabini. It had a depth of focus of 7 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

DOTr eyes completion of Bicol International Airport by July 2020

(Eagle News)–The Department of Transportation is eyeing the completion of the Bicol International Airport by July 2020, with over 62 percent of the structure completed. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:56 a.m., had its epicenter 5 kilometers southwest of Laurel. It had a depth of focus of 1 kilometer. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Tagaytay. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro on Saturday, Jan. 18. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 10:16 a.m., had its epicenter 30 kilometers southwest of Paluan. It had a depth of focus of 6 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.2-magnitude quake hits Occidental Mindoro

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Occidental Mindoro on Friday, Jan. 17. The Philippine Institute Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 11:36 p.m., had its epicenter 41 kilometers southwest of Paluan. It had a depth of focus of 22 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.9-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Friday, Jan. 17. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 12:28 p.m., had its epicenter 56 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos. It had a depth of focus of 178 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
