Cavite placed under state of calamity

(Eagle News) — The provincial board of Cavite has placed the province, which is reeling from the effects of Taal’s volcanic activity, under a state of calamity. 3.6-magnitude quake hits Davao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Davao del Sur on Thursday, Jan. 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:36 a.m., had its epicenter 18 kilometers southwest of Sulop. It had a depth of focus of 23 kilometers. An instrumental intensity II was felt in Malungon, Sarangani. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Wednesday, Jan. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which took place at 8:34 a.m., had its epicenter 6 kilometers northwest of Laurel. It had a depth of focus of one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)-A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds due to thunderstorms are expected over Sarangani and  Sultan Kudarat within one to two hours. (Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 8:27 a.m. had its epicenter 3 kilometers northeast of Calaca. PHIVOLCS said the depth of focus was 6 kilometers. An intensity II was felt in Tagaytay. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.7-magnitude quake hits Batangas

(Eagle News)-A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Monday, Jan. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 7:48 p.m., had its epicenter 8 kilometers southwest of Laurel. Depth of focus was 5 kilometers. The following intensity and instrumental intensity were recorded: Intensity:Intensity III – Tagaytay City Instrumental Intensity:Intensity III – Tagaytay City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
