NDRRMC: Death toll in 6.9-magnitude quake in Mindanao rises to nine

(Eagle News) — A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Davao del Sur on Wednesday, Dec. 18. (Eagle News)–A heavy rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said a yellow warning level is hoidted over Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur and Davao Oriental. At least nine dead, several hurt in road crash in Cardona, Rizal

(Eagle News)–At least nine people died and several were hurt in a road incident involving two trucks and a jeepney in Cardona, Rizal on Tuesday, Dec. 17. Cardona, Rizal police chief Pcpt. (Eagle News)–A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Davao del Sur on Tuesday, Dec. 17. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 8 kilometers southeast of Kiblawan at 3:54 a.m. Depth of focus was 13 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were felt: Instrumental Intensity: Intensity II – Alabel, Sarangani; Tupi, South Cotabato Intensity I – General Santos City; Koronadal City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News) — A building collapsed in Padada, Davao del Sur after 6.9 magnitude quake struck Davao del Sur on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 15, 2019. The entire ground floor was crushed, including the vehicles parked underneath the building. Other structures in the town were also damaged including a public market as seen in the photo below. Roads and other infrastructure were also damaged by the strong quake.

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani early Sunday, Dec. 15. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 18 kilometers southeast of Malapatan at 2:47 a.m. Depth of focus was 16 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Cloudy skies, light rains expected over parts of N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–Cloudy skies with light rains are expected over several areas in Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said these conditions will be felt in  Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, Mt. Province, Ifugao, Benguet and Aurora in particular.
