Yellow rainfall warning hoisted over parts of Visayas

(Eagle News) — A yellow rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Visayas. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Samar and Eastern Samar are under the alert, which means flooding is possible in low-lying areas. Landslides in mountainous areas are also possible. PAGASA said light to moderate rains are being felt in Cebu, Camotes Island, Bohol, Southern Leyte, Negros Oriental and Biliran.

3.1-magnitude quake jolts Cotabato

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Cotabato on Friday, Dec. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 9 kilometers southeast of Makilala at 12:18 p.m. Depth of focus was one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)-A 3.0-magnitude earthquake hit Surigao del Sur on Friday, Dec. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 40 kilometers northeast of Lingig at 6:37 a.m. Depth of focus was 22 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 26 kilometers southeast of Giporlos at 3:56 a.m. Depth of focus was 71 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
