4.7-magnitude quake hits Oriental Mindoro

(Eagle News)–A 4.7-magnitude earthquake struck Oriental Mindoro early Tuesday, Sept. 10. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 14 kilometers northwest of Puerto Galera at 117 a.m. Depth of focus was 174 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Puerto Galera, Oriental Mindoro; Bacoor City; and in Quezon City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Yellow rainfall warning hoisted over parts of N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–A yellow rainfall warning has been hoisted over parts of Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said under the alert in particular are Pangasinan and Kayapa, Sta.Fe, Aritao, and Ambaguio in Nueva Vizcaya. (Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Sunday, Sept. 8. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 8 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 2:39 a.m. Depth of focus was 31 kilometers.
