Caloocan mayor tests positive for COVID-19

(Eagle News) — Caloocan Mayor Oscar Malapitan has tested positive for COVID-19. Malapitan made the announcement in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Aug. 25. DOH reports 12,067 more COVID-19 cases

(Eagle News)–COVID-19 cases in the Philippines climbed to 1,869,691 after the Department of Health reported 12,067 more COVID-19 cases. According to DOH data, of the total cases, 127703 were active. Of these, 95.5 percent were mild, 1.7 percent were asymptomatic, 0.6 percent were critical, 1.2 percent were severe, and 0.93 percent were moderate. Recoveries rose to 1709724 including the additional 14565 recoveries. The death toll is now at 32262, with the addition of 303 deaths. […]

Of 27, only 17 have requested repatriation (Eagle News) — Only 27 Filipinos remain in Afghanistan since the Department of Foreign Affairs began repatriation efforts amid the uncertain security situation following the Taliban’s takeover of the government there. DFA reports 946 more COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad

(Eagle News) — Over 900 more COVID-19 cases have been reported among overseas Filipinos. According to recent Department of Foreign Affairs data, the additional 946 cases pushed the total COVID-19 cases among Filipinos outside the Philippines to 22713. PNP COVID-19 death toll rises to 100

DOH reports record-high 18,332 new COVID-19 infections

(Eagle News) — COVID-19 cases in the Philippines rose to 1,857,646 on Monday, Aug. 23, after the Department of Health reported record-high 18,332 additional COVID-19 cases. AFP chief Faustino tested positive for COVID-19 in antigen test: AFP spokesperson

(Eagle News) — Armed Forces of the Philippines chief Lt. Gen. Jose Faustino Jr. has tested positive for COVID-19 in an antigen test. According to AFP spokesperson Colonel Ramon Zagala, the results of Faustino’s RT-PCR test will be released within the day. So far, he said the AFP chief was “isolating.” Faustino replaced General Cirilito Sobejana on July 31 after he reached the mandatory age of retirement.  

Senator Lito Lapid tests positive for COVID-19

Lapid’s chief of staff Jericho Acedera said in a statement that the senator was currently undergoing treatment at the Medical City Clark in Mabalacat, Pampanga.
