According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake, which hit at 8:51 a.m., was an aftershock of the 6.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Lubang on March 14. (Eagle News) –A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck off Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, March 16. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake that hit at 8:09 a.m. was an aftershock of the 6.4-magnitude quake that struck Lubang on March 14. The epicenter of Tuesday’s quake was 82 kilometers northwest of Lubang. The depth of focus was 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
4.3-magnitude quake strikes off Occidental Mindoro
(Eagle News) — A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck off Occidental Mindoro on Tuesday, March 15. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, the quake hit 103 kilometers northwest of Lubang. PHIVOLCS said the earthquake was an aftershock of the 6.4-magnitude earthquake reported in Lubang the day before. Tuesday’s earthquake had a depth of focus of 33 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.
