MMDA sacks 2 enforcers for allegedly extorting money from delivery drivers in Makati

(Eagle News)–Two Metropolitan Manila Development Authority enforcers were fired for allegedly extorting money from delivery motorcycle drivers in Makati. In a statement, MMDA Chair Danilo Lim said the two enforcers, who have not been identified have been arrested and are detained pending the filing of charges against them. MMDA: Number-coding scheme lifted today, March 13

(Eagle News)–The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has lifted the number-coding scheme for today, March 13. The MMDA in a Tweet said the suspension applies to all types of vehicles, public and private. The suspension came a day after President Rodrigo Duterte said land, domestic air and domestic sea travel to and from Metro Manila were temporarily banned as a precaution against the novel coronavirus. The Philippines has so far confirmed 52 cases, with 5 deaths.

MMDA: Pasig River ferry operations suspended starting Wednesday noon

(Eagle News) — Operations of the Pasig River Ferry will be suspended starting noon on Wednesday, Feb. 5. In a short advisory, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said this was to give way to the dry run of the Pasig River Cruise project of the Department of Tourism and the MMDA. The MMDA did not say when the operations would resume. “Thank you very much for your understanding,” the MMDA said.

MMDA: Number-coding scheme lifted tomorrow, Jan. 13

(Eagle News)-The number-coding scheme is lifted for all vehicles tomorrow, Jan. 13. The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority suspended the scheme after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology upgraded the alert status of the volcano. The volcano is currently on alert level 4, which means a hazardous eruption is imminent. PHIVOLCS has recommended an evacuation from the volcano island and additional areas within a 14-kilometer radius of the volcano.
