MRT-3 ops resume following temporary halt due to quake

(Eagle News)–Operations of the Metro Rail Transit-3 have resumed after they were temporarily suspended following the 5.5-magnitude earthquake off Quezon on Friday, Sept. 13. (Eagle News)–A strong earthquake struck Quezon on Friday, Sept. 13, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. PHIVOLCS initially said the quake was a 5.5-magnitude one, but it later downgraded this to 5.3. 3.0-magnitude quake hits S. Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Southern Leyte on Friday, Sept. 13. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 7 kilometers southwest of Hinunangan at 6 a.m. Depth of focus was 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.4-magnitude quake hits N. Vizcaya

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Nueva Vizcaya on Thursday, Sept. 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said  the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 7 kilometers northwest of Ambaguio at 8:01 a.m Depth of focus was 1 kilometer. The following intensities were reported: Intensity IV – Ambaguio, Nueva Vizcaya Intensity III – Atok & Bokod, Benguet; Tinoc, Ifugao Intensity II – Baguio City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.4-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental early Monday, Sept. 9. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 24 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 2:07 a.m. Depth of focus was 33 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.4-magnitude quake strikes off Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur early Sunday, Sept. 8. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 8 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 2:39 a.m. Depth of focus was 31 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

3.3-magnitude quake jolts Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Saturday, Sept. 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 12 kilometers southwest of Burauen at 1:14 p.m. The following intensities were felt: Intensity III – Burauen & Albuera, Leyte Intensity II – Baybay City, Leyte No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

3.1-magnitude quake hits Biliran

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Biliran on Saturday, Sept. 7. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 4 kilometers southeast of Naval at 9:51 a.m. Depth of focus of the quake was 7 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.2-magnitude quake strikes off Aurora

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Aurora on Friday, Sept. 6. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 20 kilometers northeast of Casiguran at 12:38 p.m. Depth of focus was 10 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.5-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake hit Davao Occidental on Thursday, Sept. 5. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 23 kilometers southeast of Don Marcelino at 1:37 p.m. Depth of focus was 144 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

3.4-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Tuesday, Sept. 3. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 11 kilometers northwest of Socorro at 6:53 a.m. Depth of focus was 77 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.5-magnitude quake strikes off Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Sunday, Sept. 1. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 35 kilometers northeast of Cortes at 7:48 a.m. Depth of focus was 13 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
