(Eagle News)–A strong earthquake struck Quezon on Friday, Sept. 13, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
PHIVOLCS initially said the quake was a 5.5-magnitude one, but it later downgraded this to 5.3.
The quake, which hit 39 kilometers northeast of Burdeos at 4:28 p.m., was felt in several parts of Metro Manila as well, prompting some people to evacuate their offices.
People wearing helmets were seen leaving the Malacañang Executive Building.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra and others were also seen leaving their Department of Justice offices.

Intensity III – Guinayangan, Quezon; Muntinlupa City; Manila City; San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan; Bacoor, Cavite; Maddela, Quirino; San Mateo, Rizal; Baler, Aurora; Lucena City
Intensity II-Dingalan, Aurora; Mandaluyong City; Apalit, Pampanga; Taguig City; Lucban, Quezon
Intensity I- San Isidro, Nueva Ecija; Gapan City; Meycauayan, Bulacan
