3.5-magnitude quake hits Negros Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude quake struck Negros Occidental on Sunday, Jan. 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which took place at 6:24 a.m., had its epicenter 14 kilometers northeast of Sipalay. Depth of focus was 65 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

DOTr says construction of Bicol International Airport almost done after 11-year delay

(Eagle News)–After an 11-year delay, construction of the Bicol International Airport is almost complete, the Department of Transportation said. According to the DOTr, the airport in Daraga, Albay is 62.042 percent complete, and is expected to be fully completed this July. 3.6-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Saturday, Jan. 4. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which took place at 7:36 a.m., had its epicenter 113 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. Depth of focus was 73 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.3-magnitude quake hits Davao del Sur

(Eagle News)-A 3.3-magnitude quake hit Davao del Sur on Thursday, Jan. 2. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter of the quake, which hit at 2:48 a.m., was 11 kilometers southwest of Sulop. Depth of focus was 12 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were recorded: Intensity I – Malungon, Sarangani; Tupi, South Cotabato No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

Rains forecast in parts of N. Luzon today

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which took place at 6:56 a.m., had its epicenter 9 kilometers southwest of Bansalan. Depth of focus was 4 kilometers. AFP: Mindanao to remain under state of national emergency even with lapse of martial law today

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 11:40 p.m., had its epicenter 7 kilometers northwest of Maasim. Depth of focus was 92 kilometers. 3.6-magnitude quake hits Batanes

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Batanes on Monday, Dec. 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, had its epicenter 65 kilometers southwest of Sabtang at 8:08 a.m. Depth of focus was 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)-A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani on Sunday, Dec. 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 19 kilometers northwest of Malungon at 3:43 a.m. Depth of focus was 30 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were recorded: Intensity I -Tupi, South Cotabato; Malungon, Sarangani No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.0-magnitude quake strikes off Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)-A 4.0-magnitude quake struck off Davao Occidental waters on Saturday, Dec. 28. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the epicenter of the quake, of tectonic origin, was 175 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at  4:38 p.m. Depth of focus was 9 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
