(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Northern Samar and Sorsogon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said  moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Catarman, Bobon, San Jose, Rosario, Lavezares, Allen and Victoria in Northern Samar; and in Bulusan, Santa Magdalena and Barcelona in Sorsogon particularly. 94-year-old woman is Zamboanga’s first COVID-19 fatality

(Eagle News)–A 94-year-old woman has become Zamboanga City’s and Zamboanga Peninsula’s first COVID-19 fatality. This is according to Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco, who made the announcement in a Facebook post on Tuesday, April 21. “It is with extreme sadness that we inform the public about the passing of ZC07, the 7th COVID-19 positive case for Zamboanga City. 3.6-magnitude quake hits Sarangani

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Sarangani early Tuesday, April 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 3:27 a.m., had its epicenter 40 kilometers southwest of Maasim. It had a depth of 37 kilometers. The quake was recorded at an intensity I in Kiamba, Sarangani and in General Santos City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.5-magnitude quake hits Cavite

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Cavite on Monday, April 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 11:04 a.m., had its epicenter 10 kilometers southeast of Silang. It had a depth of two kilometers. The following intensities are reported: Intensity II – Tanauan City, Batangas Intensity I – Talisay, Batangas No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
