4.3-magnitude quake hits Zamboanga del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.3-magnitude earthquake struck Zamboanga del Sur today, May 5. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 5:43 a.m., had its epicenter five kilometers northeast of Dumingag. It had a depth of two kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.2-magnitude quake hits Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Monday, May 4. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 7:26 a.m., had its epicenter 11 kilometers northeast of Albuera. It had a depth of one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Gov’t: 3 COVID-19 testing labs being set up in Zamboanga City

(Eagle News)–Three laboratories for COVID-19 testing are being put up in Zamboanga City as part of efforts to ramp up the country’s testing capacity amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
