DFA: 26 more overseas Filipinos contract COVID-19, eight more recoveries reported

(Eagle News) — Twenty-six additional COVID-19 cases were reported among overseas Filipinos, the Department of Foreign Affairs said. According to the DFA, the additional cases that brought the total  to 9959 were from Asia and the Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East. Cebu gov’t, courier firm offer free one-way tickets to city for Cebuanos stranded in M. Manila

(Eagle News)–Cebuanos who were left stranded in Metro Manila following the imposition of community quarantines amid the COVID-19 pandemic may return home for free from August 19 to 31. PAGASA monitoring LPA off Camarines Norte

COVID-19 cases in PHL top 173,000 with additional 4,650 cases

(Eagle News) — The number of coronavirus disease 2019 cases in the country surpassed the 173,000 mark on Wednesday, Aug. 19, after the Department of Health reported 4650 additional cases on the same day. The DOH said of the 173,774 total COVID-19 cases, 57498 were active cases. Of these, 91.4 percent were mild, 6.5 percent asymptomatic, 0.9 percent severe, and 1.2 percent critical.
