PHL Domestic Submarine Cable Network launched

According to the President, the network spans 2500 kilometers, making it the country’s longest and highest capacity domestic submarine fiber cable network. 4.6-magnitude earthquake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Friday, Feb. 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 7:58 a.m. The epicenter was 16 kilometers southeast of Marihatag. The depth of focus was 23 kilometers. The following instrumental intensity was reported: Intensity I – City of Bislig, Surigao Del Sur No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

4.2-magnitude earthquake strikes off Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Wednesday, Feb. 14. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake that hit at 3:59 p.m. was an aftershock of the 7.4-magnitude quake that struck the province early December last year. The epicenter of today’s quake was 38 kilometers southeast of Hinatuan. The depth of focus was 28 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

FDA to shorten period of review, approval of generic drugs to 45 days
