4.6-magnitude earthquake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 4.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Surigao del Sur on Friday, Feb. 16.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 7:58 a.m.

The epicenter was 16 kilometers southeast of Marihatag.

The depth of focus was 23 kilometers.

The following instrumental intensity was reported:

Intensity I – City of Bislig, Surigao Del Sur

No damage to property nor
aftershocks were expected.
