COVID-19 cases in PHL climb to 1,424,518 with addition of 6,192 cases

(Eagle News) — COVID-19 cases in the Philippines climbed to 1424518 on Friday, July 2, after the Department of Health reported 6192 additional cases. Of the total cases, 55482 were active. Of these, 91.5 percent were mild, 3.8 percent asymptomatic, 1.4 percent critical, 2 percent severe, and 1.44 percent were moderate. PNP: 211 police officers sanctioned for failure to attend court hearings

(Eagle News) — More than 200 police personnel were penalized for failing to attend court hearings in cases filed by the Philippine National Police. According to the PNP, of the 211 policemen,  83 were dismissed from the service, 31 were demoted, 92 were suspended, while five were reprimanded. PHIVOLCS: Taal still under alert level 3

(Eagle News) — An alert level 3 remains over Taal with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology still monitoring “high activity.” PHIVOLCS said in 24 hours, it monitored 28 earthquakes and one “explosion-type”  with low background tremor at the volcano. A steam plume reaching as high as 3,000 meters was also observed. DOH reports 5,795 more COVID-19 cases

(Eagle News) — COVID-19 cases in the Philippines climbed to 1,418,337 after the Department of Health reported 5,795 additional cases. According to the DOH, of the total cases, 51567 were active. Of these, 91 percent were mild cases, 3.8 percent asymptomatic, 1.5 percent critical, 2.1 percent severe, and 1.56 percent were moderate. PHIVOLCS raises alert level 3 over Taal volcano; recommends evacuation of residents from “high-risk” areas

(Eagle News) — Taal volcano is now under alert level 3 after a “short-lived dark phreatomagmatic plume” rose one kilometer high on Thursday, July 1. PHL unemployment rate down in May 2021: PSA

(Eagle News) — The country’s unemployment rate went down in May as quarantine restrictions eased amid the COVID-19 pandemic. According to recent Philippine Statistics Authority data, the 7.7 percent rate registered in that month was lower than the 8.7 percent recorded in April.
