BFAR: Drop in salinity levels in some Cavite water bodies may have caused reported shellfish deaths

(Eagle News)–Heavy rainfall that led to drops in the salinity levels of select water bodies in Bacoor and Sangley Point in Cavite may have caused the reported deaths of shellfish there. BFAR to implement fishing ban in Visayan Sea starting Nov. 15

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) announced through its Fisheries Administrative Order 167-3 that starting November 15, a fishing ban will be implemented in the Visayan Sea. The fishing ban will last until February 15, 2019 but may be extended until March depending on the changing spawning pattern of fish.
