Cambridge University to scrap fossil fuel investment

7 quakes, steam and sulfur dioxide emissions monitored at Kanlaon; alert level 1 stays

(Eagle News)–Seven volcanic earthquakes were reported at Kanlaon in 24 hours. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said steam and sulfur dioxide emissions were also monitored at the volcano, which remains on alert level 1. DFA reports 18 more COVID-19 recoveries among overseas Filipinos

(Eagle News)–The Department of Foreign Affairs has reported 18 additional COVID-19 recoveries among overseas Filipinos. The DFA said with the additional 18 from the Asia Pacific region and the Middle East, the recovery tally rose to 6745 as of Thursday. The Middle East and Africa have the most recoveries so far, with 4277, followed by the Asia Pacific region with 1066, Europe with 938, and the Americas with 464. 3.7-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Oriental on Friday, Oct. 2. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 5:53 a.m., had its epicenter 86 kilometers northeast of Baganga. It had a depth of 22 kilometers, and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

MRT-3 to commuters: Expect shorter travel time, waiting times for train arrivals with increased train speed

59 more COVID-19 recoveries reported among police personnel

(Eagle News)–The Philippine National Police has reported additional 59 recoveries among police personnel. With the additional recoveries, the PNP said the total rose to 4843. Forty additional COVID-19 cases pushed the total to 6030, however. Of these, 1170 were active. No additional deaths were reported, which means the death toll remains at 17.
