The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 24 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 11:59 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake was 125 kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 83 kilometers southeast of General Generoso at 6:55 a.m. The earthquake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of focus of 17 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 38 kilometers northwest of Calayan at 4:59 p.m. An intensity III was reported in Aparri, Cagayan.
