PNP: Blasts in Maguindanao, Cotabato on Monday, May 13, not election-related

(Eagle News)—The Philippine National Police has ruled the blasts in Maguindanao and Cotabato were not election-related.

In a press conference, PNP Chief Oscar Albayalde said  those behind  the blasts in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao around 1 a.m. and  in Cotabato City at 7:10 a.m. merely wanted to “make themselves known.”

He noted the blasts followed another incident at a vacant lot in the Cotabato City Hall compound around 10 p.m. on Sunday.

“They are not intended to hurt anybody but just nagpaparamdam,” Albayalde said.

No one was reported injured in the blasts.
