PHIVOLCS issues Taal Volcano advisory due to “Tisoy”

(Eagle News)–The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has issued a   Taal volcano advisory, with “Tisoy’s” track expected to include Calabarzon. In the advisory, PHIVOLCS  reiterated that the entire volcano island was strictly a  Permanent Danger Zone and is not recommended for permanent settlement at all times. Lahar advisory hoisted over Bulusan Volcano

(Eagle News) — The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology has hoisted a lahar advisory over Bulusan volcano, with “Tisoy” forecast to make landfall in the area. According to PHIVOLCS, lahars can threaten downstream communities along the Malunoyi (Patag), Mapaso, Cadac-an, Tinampo and Cogon Rivers in Ieosin and Anog-Rangas River in Juban. 3.1-magnitude quake jolts Leyte

(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte on Friday night, Nov. 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said on Saturday, Nov. 30, that the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 10 kilometers southwest of Capoocan at 9:09 p.m. Depth of focus was 7 kilometers. An intensity II was felt in Capoocan. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Northeast monsoon affecting N. Luzon

3.4-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental early Saturday, Nov. 30. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 103 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 12:33 a.m. Depth of focus was 93 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
