3.4-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Sunday, Feb. 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 5:26 a.m., had its epicenter 14 kilometers northeast of Burgos. Depth of focus was 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.2-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Friday night. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 10:27 p.m., had its epicenter 196 kilometers southeast of Sarangani. It had a depth of focus of 13 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Taal still on alert level 2

(Eagle News)–An alert level 2 remains hoisted over Taal on Saturday, Feb. 22. CamSur under red alert for ASF after pigs test positive in Bonbon town

(Eagle News) Camarines Sur has been placed under red alert after pigs in the town of Bonbon tested positive for African Swine Fever. Camarines Sur Governor Miguel Villafuerte also barred the entry of live hogs into the province. The provincial government has also set up quarantine checkpoints in the province to prevent the spread of the disease.

3.7-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur on Friday, Feb. 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 3:57 p.m., had its epicenter 28 kilometers northeast of Cortes. It had a depth of focus of 16 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Baguio City temperature drops to 9.4°, lowest this northeast monsoon season

(Eagle News) — Baguio City experienced its lowest temperature this amihan or northeast monsoon season. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said temperature in the city in Benguet dropped to 9.4° Celsius on Thursday, Feb. 21. This was a bit higher than the 9.0°C recorded there on Jan. 30,  the lowest during the October 2018 to  February 2019 Amihan season. 3.6-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental on Friday, Feb. 21 The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 7:59 a.m., had its epicenter 14 kilometers southwest of Mati. It had a depth of focus of 42 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.0-magnitude quake jolts Sultan Kudarat

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Sultan Kudarat on Thursday, Feb. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:14 a.m., had its epicenter 5 kilometers northeast of Columbio. It had a depth of focus of 12 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were recorded: Instrumental Intensities: Intensity III -Kidapawan City Intensity I – Malungon, Sarangani; Tupi and Koronadal City, South Cotabato No damage to properties nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Ilocos Sur on Wednesday, Feb. 19. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 5:36 p.m., had its epicenter 58 kilometers northwest of Santa Catalina. It had a depth of focus of 21 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
