DOTr expands free bus ride operations for health workers to Laguna

(Eagle News)–The Department of Transportation has extended its free bus ride operations for health workers to Laguna. In a statement, the DOTr said  health frontliners can now be transported to and from  Calamba, Sta. Rosa, Binan and San Pedro. Laguna confirms 17 COVID-19 cases

(Eagle News)–Laguna province has recorded 17 coronavirus disease 2019 cases so far. Gov. Ramil Hernandez said of the 17, seven were from Santa Rosa, three from Biñan, two from Calamba and San Pedro, and one each from Cabuyao, Los Baños and Lumban. Hernandez said 687 persons are under investigation, while 8859 are under monitoring. Over 1000 persons under monitoring have been cleared, he said.

3.3-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental today. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 8:12 a.m., had its epicenter 120 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos. Depth of focus was 52 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Trough of LPA affects S. Mindanao

Easterlies affecting Mindanao, too (Eagle News)–The trough of a low pressure area is affecting Southern Mindanao today. Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with possible lightning and strong winds  are expected over Jose Abad Santos and Sarangani in Davao Occidental and  Glan in Sarangani. Binangonan, Rizal confirms first COVID-19 case

(Eagle News) — The municipality of Binangonan in Rizal has confirmed its first coronavirus disease 2019 case. In a statement, Binangonan Mayor Cesar Ynares said the first case was a 44-year-old female and a resident of St. Monique Subdivision in Barangay Pantok. (Eagle News)–Zamboanga City has recorded its first coronavirus disease 2019 case. Mayor Beng Climaco said the patient was a 29-year-old  male from Barangay Sinunuc who had a travel history from Metro Manila.
