NDRRMC: Reported deaths due to inclement weather since January now at 17

(Eagle News) — Reported deaths due to inclement weather in parts of the country have risen to 17. Heavy rainfall warning raised over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News) — A heavy rainfall warning has been raised over parts of Mindanao. According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, an orange warning level, in particular, is hoisted over Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte. President Bongbong Marcos appoints Cheloy Garafil as PCO Secretary

(Eagle News) — President Bongbong Marcos has appointed Cheloy Garafil as secretary of the Presidential Communications Office. The PCO said Garafil, a lawyer, took her oath before the President. Garafil served as officer-in-charge of the Office of the Press Secretary before she was appointed. Prior to this, she  served as chair of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and as Department of Justice prosecutor.

Inflation accelerated to 8.1% in December 2022: PSA

(Eagle News) — Inflation accelerated to 8.1% in December 2022, Philippine Statistics Authority data showed. According to the PSA, this is a 0.1 increase in acceleration from the 8.0 percent recorded in November 2022. “This is the highest inflation rate reported for 2022 and the highest since November 2008,” the PSA said.
