4.5-magnitude quake strikes off Cagayan

(Eagle News)–A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Cagayan early Saturday, Aug. 29. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 4:57 a.m., had its epicenter 43 kilometers southwest of Calayan. It had a depth of eight kilometers. The following instrumental intensity was reported: Instrumental Intensity: Intensity III – Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

According to PHIVOLCS, weak steaming was also observed from the vents on the main crater of the volcano, which remains on alert level 1. 3.5-magnitude quake strikes off Pangasinan

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck off Pangasinan early Thursday, Aug. 27. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 345 a.m., had its epicenter  81 kilometers northwest of Agno. It had a depth of 20 kilometers, and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Batanes early Saturday, Aug. 22. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 4:17 a.m., had its epicenter 65 kilometers southeast of Sabtang. It had a depth of one kilometer. PHIVOLCS said the quake was of tectonic origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Magnitude 4 tremor hits Masbate, aftershock of magnitude 6.6 quake – PHIVOLCS

  (Eagle News) — A magnitude 4 aftershock struck Masbate again at 1:25 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, three days after the 6.6 magnitude quake, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). The quake was 18 kilometers deep. Its epicenter was located 11 kilometers northeast of Uson, Masbate. 5.2-magnitude aftershock hits Masbate early Wednesday

(Eagle News)–A 5.2-magnitude aftershock struck Masbate early Wednesday morning. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, hit 12 kilometers southeast of Cataingan at 5:50 a.m. It had a depth of six kilometers. No damage to property was expected but aftershocks were. Earlier, PHIVOLCS had said a strong aftershock of the 6.6-magnitude earthquake that struck Cataingan on Tuesday, Aug. 18, was possible.
