(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck off Masbate early Saturday, Sept. 2. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake hit 10 km southeast of Pio V. Corpus at 12:03 a.m. The depth of focus was 12 km. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit at 10:51 a.m. It said it was an aftershock of the 6.0-magnitude quake that hit Batuan on Feb. 16. The epicenter of Sunday’s quake was four kilometers southwest of Batuan. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.
