3.6-magnitude quake hits Masbate

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck off Masbate today. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 6:28 a.m., was an aftershock of the 6.6-magnitude earthquake in Cataingan on Aug. 18. Sunday’s quake had its epicenter 9 kilometers northeast of Cataingan, and a depth of 16 kilometers. It was of tectonic origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.  

4.1-magnitude quake hits Masbate

(Eagle News) — A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Masbate on Monday, Aug. 17. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which hit at 1:21 p.m., had its epicenter 14 kilometers southeast of Cataingan. It had a depth of 10 kilometers, and was tectonic in origin. JUST IN: 4.1-magnitude quake hits Masbate

(Eagle News)–A 4.1-magnitude earthquake struck Masbate on Thursday, Jan. 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 9:05 p.m.,  had its epicenter 18 kilometers northwest of Aroroy. It had a depth of focus of 10 kilometers. An Instrumental Intensity II was felt in Masbate City.

3.0-magnitude quake hits Masbate

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Masbate early Saturday, June 1. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 13 kilometers northeast of Aroroy at 4:35 a.m. Depth of focus of the quake was six kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

4.4-magnitude quake hits Masbate

(Eagle News)–A 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck Masbate on Monday, May 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 4 kilometers northeast of Pio. V. Corpuz in Limbuhan at 6:45 a.m. An instrumental intensity I was reported in the cities of Masbate and Legazpi. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
