Active COVID-19 cases in PHL top 50k as total cases breached 119k; most cases still mild – DOH

  (Eagle News) – The number of active COVID-19 cases in the country surpassed 50,000 on Thursday, Aug. 6, as the total number of cases breached 119,000. The Department of Health’s latest update showed that active virus cases reached 50,473 but 90.9 percent of these are only mild, while 7.8 percent are considered asymptomatic. DFA: 49 more Filipinos abroad have recovered from COVID-19

PACC says it recommended sanctions vs 36 PhilHealth officials

(Eagle News) — The Presidential Anti-Corruption Commission has recommended the firing or the filing of charges against 36 PhilHealth officials. PACC commissioner Greco Belgica said in an interview this was the content of the PACC’s initial report to the Office of the President on corruption allegations against the state insurer. US announces clinical trial of antibody treatment for COVID-19

(Eagle News)–The number of coronavirus disease 2019 cases in the country rose to 112,593 on Tuesday, August 4, after the Department of Health announced 6352 cases on the same day.
