Zaldy Ampatuan discharged from hospital

(Eagle News) — Former Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao governor Zaldy Ampatuan, who is a primary defendant in the Maguindanao massacre case, has been discharged from the hospital. JUST IN: Bicam approves sin tax bill

(Eagle News)-The bicameral committee has approved the sin tax bill that seeks to increase taxes on alcohol, heated tobacco products and vapor cigarettes. The bicameral approval came only hours after senators and congressmen sat down to reconcile the disagreeing provisions of the Senate- and House-approved versions. The approved report, once ratified by the Senate and the House, will  be sent to President Rodrigo Duterte next week for signature. With a report from Meanne Corvera  

3.1-magnitude quake hits Davao del Sur

(Eagle News)-A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Davao del Sur on Wednesday, Dec  18. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 11 kilometers southwest of Kiblawan at 1:32 p.m. Depth of focus was 16 kilometers. The following instrumental intensities were recorded: Intensity III – Malungon, Sarangani Intensity II – Koronodal City, Tupi, South Cotabato, Kidapawan City No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

DOTr sees partial operations for PNR trains connecting Bulacan and Manila by end of 2021

California power firm to pay $1.7 bn over wildfires

PCC orders Grab PHL to refund P14.15 million to some of its passengers

(Eagle News) — The Philippine Competition Commission has ordered Grab Philippines to refund P14.15 million to some of its passengers for violating its voluntary commitments.
