DFA: 53 Filipino seafarers repatriated from France, Mexico, Indonesia

(Eagle News)–Fifty-three Filipino seafarers were repatriated from different parts of the world amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The Department of Foreign Affairs said the seafarers came from France, Mexico and Indonesia. Their repatriation came following the repatriation of Overseas Filipino Workers from Doha, Qatar; Singapore; Macau; and Bahrain, among others. 3.2-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental early Saturday

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude quake hit Davao Oriental on Saturday, May 23. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 1:19 a.m., had its epicenter 113 kilometers southeast of Manay. It had a depth of 33 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

MIAA releases list of operational commercial flights for Saturday, May 23

(Eagle News)–The Manila International Airport Authority has released its list of operational commercial flights. MIAA said the list was for Saturday, May 23: Cebu Pacific flights remain cancelled until May 31 in view of the modified enhanced community quarantine imposed on Metro Manila. All flight operations remain concentrated at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 to reduce the risk of exposure of airport workers to the COVID-19 virus, MIAA had said.

Taal update: Six quakes monitored; volcano still on alert level 1

(Eagle News)–Six volcanic earthquakes were recorded at Taal within a 24-hour period.
