3.9-magnitude quake hits Batangas

(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 12:58 p.m., has its epicenter  13 kilometers northwest of Nasugbu. It had a depth of 193 kilometers and was tectonic in origin. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

3.5-magnitude quake hits Batanes

(Eagle News)–A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Batanes on Sunday, Sept. 6. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, which struck at 6:18 a.m., had its epicenter 15 kilometers southeast of Sabtang. It had a depth of one kilometer and was tectonic in origin. An intensity II was reported in Basco. No damage to property nor aftershocks were reported.

DFA: 42,583 overseas Filipinos repatriated in August

(Eagle News)–The Department of Foreign Affairs repatriated over 42,000 overseas Filipinos in August amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The DFA said of the 42,583 repatriated, 76.1 percent flew in from the Middle East. Additional death among police personnel brings COVID-19 PNP death toll to 16
