3.9-magnitude quake hits Cagayan

(Eagle News)—A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Cagayan on Wednesday, April 17. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 51 kilometers southwest of Calayan at 10:18 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 11 kilometers. No damage nor aftershocks were expected.    

Block of “cocaine” found off Batanes waters

(Eagle News)—A block of cocaine was found floating off Basco, Batanes on Tuesday, police said. Authorities said the cocaine was found by a fisherman off the Naidi Light House at 3:15 p.m. In an interview over GMA 7’s dzbb, Batanes Provincial Police director Colonel Merwin Quarteros said the cocaine was wrapped in  layers of plastic. 3.8-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur early Wednesday

(Eagle News)–A 3.8-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Wednesday, April 17. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 41 kilometers southeast of Cagwait at 1:10 a.m. The quake, which was of tectonic origin, had a depth of focus of 25 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded, PHIVOLCS said.

3.5-magnitude earthquake jolts Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)—-A 3.5-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Tuesday, April 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 101 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 4:22 p.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 8 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.  

Maynilad reminds customers to store water ahead of scheduled service interruptions

3.7-magnitude quake jolts Leyte early Tuesday

(Eagle News)—A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Leyte early Tuesday, April 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 26 kilometers northeast of Abuyog at 12:48 a.m. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Borongan, eastern Samar, PHIVOLCS said. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected from the quake, which was of tectonic origin.

3.0-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Tuesday, April 16. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 58 kilometers northeast of Burgos at 11:01 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake was 10 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.    

3.3-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Norte

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 33 kilometers northeast of Burgos at 5:33 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake was eight kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.
