Zambales suspends gov’t work, classes on Tuesday, April 23

(Eagle News)–The Zambales government has suspended all government work and classes in the province following a 6.1-magnitude quake.

An advisory from Governor Amor Deloso said the suspension was to  “give way to the inspection of all structures in the Province of Zambales..”

“However, those offices whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamaties, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services,” the advisory said.

“Please be guided accordingly. Stay Safe Zambaleños,” the advisory added.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake struck 18 kilometers northeast of Castillejos at 5:11 p.m.

An intensity V was reported in Quezon City, Manila, among others.

Five were reported killed in Pampanga.
