3.0-magnitude quake hits Masbate

(Eagle News)—–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Masbate on Saturday, April 13. The quake hit 11 kilometers east of Masbate at 5:34 a.m., the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. According to PHIVOLCS, the depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 1 kilometers. An intensity II and an instrumental intensity II were reported in Masbate. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

(Eagle News) — A 4.5-magnitude earthquake struck Batanes on Friday, April 12. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the earthquake hit 71 kilometers southwest of Sabtang at 11:46 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 35 kilometers. An Intensity II and an instrumental Intensity II were reported in Basco. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

3.5-magnitude quake jolts Negros Occidental

(Eagle News)—A 3.5-magnitude quake hit Negros  Occidental on Thursday night, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said. PHIVOLCS said the quake struck 108 kilometers southwest of Sipalay at 10:28 p.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 46 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

Philippine National Police chief Oscar Albayalde said the 43-year-old man identified as Renato Bayuban Llenes alias “Renren” went to the Cebu police on April 9 and confessed to the killing of the Cebu student on March 11. 3.2-magnitude quake jolts Batangas

(Eagle News)–A 3.2-magnitude earthquake struck Batangas on Tuesday, April 9. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 18 kilometers southwest of Nasugbu at 5:47 p.m. The depth of focus was 113 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.

Another suspect in Silawan slay nabbed
