4.0-magnitude quake jolts Sarangani

A 4.0-magnitude quake struck Sarangani on Thursday, April 18./PHIVOLCS/

(Eagle News)—A 4.0-magnitude quake struck Sarangani on Thursday, April 18.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 54 kilometers southwest of Kiamba at 7 p.m.

The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 16 kilometers.

An intensity III was reported in Kiamba, and an intensity II in General Santos City.

An instrumental intensity III  was recorded in Kiamba and T’boli, South Cotabato, and an instrumental intensity II in General Santos.

No damage to property nor aftershocks were expected.
