(Eagle News)–The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has hoisted red and yellow alerts over the Luzon grid, a day after a 6.1-magnitude quake struck the area.
The NGCP said the yellow alert, which means reserves are less than the power of the largest online plant, was in effect from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The red alert, on the other hand, which means a generation deficiency exists, is in effect from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The NGCP said the available capacity of the Luzon grid is 10,576MW.
Peak demand, it said, was at 10,536MW.
At least 7 people were killed and 81 others were injured in the quake.
