JUST IN: 3.9-magnitude quake hits Isabela

(Eagle News) — A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Isabela on Thursday, June 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 30 kilometers northeast of Maconacon at 4:40 p.m. The depth of focus was 23 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News) — A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Negros Oriental on Wednesday afternoon. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 51 kilometers southwest of Basay at 4:41 p.m. The depth of focus was 33 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Suspected Pakistani terrorist arrested in Zamboanga City

(Eagle News) — A suspected Pakistani terrorist was arrested in Zamboanga City on Tuesday, June 18. Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said on Wednesday, June 19, that Waqar Ahmad, 36, a suspected member of Daulah Islamiyah, was nabbed for violating immigration laws by working as a storekeeper in his uncle’s appliance store. Former town mayor shot dead while under hospital arrest in Cebu

(Eagle News) — A former town mayor was shot dead while under hospital arrest in Medellin, Cebu, the police said. Police said several armed men barged inside the Bogo-Medellin Corporation Medical Center in Barangay Luy-a at 11:50 p.m. and shot Ricardo “Ricky” Ramirez, 55, dead. Ramirez, who was arrested in 2017 for illegal possession of firearms, was a detainee at the Medellin District Jail. A probe is still ongoing.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 11 kilometers southwest of Calatagan at 2:29 a.m. The depth of focus was 174 kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 80 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos at 10:02 a.m. The depth of focus was 19 kilometers. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake hit 25 kilometers southeast of San Juan at 10:39 a.m. The depth of focus of the quake, which was of tectonic origin, was 7 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.0-magnitude quake hits Davao Occidental

(Eagle News)–A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental early Friday, June 14. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 5 kilometers northeast of Malita at 3:32 a.m. Depth of focus was 207 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
