4.2-magnitude quake hits Davao Oriental

(Eagle News)–A 4.2-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Oriental early Sunday, July 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 19 kilometers northwest of Cateel at 2:30 a.m. Depth of focus of the quake was 14 kilometers. An instrumental intensity I was felt in Bislig. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

(Eagle News)–A 3.9-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Saturday, July 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 196 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 1:29 p.m. Depth of focus was one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.7-magnitude quake hits Surigao del Sur

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Saturday, July 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, struck 6 kilometers southwest of San Francisco at 5:43 a.m. An intensity IV was felt in Surigao City. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Rains to prevail in parts of PHL as southwest monsoon affects Luzon

(Eagle News)–A 3.6-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Friday, July 19. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, an aftershock of the 5.5-magnitude earthquake on July 13, hit 6 kilometers southwest of Carrascal at 1:40 a.m. The following intensities were recorded: Intensity III – Carrascal, Lanuza, and Carmen, Surigao Del Sur Intensity II – Claver, Surigao Del Norte No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Rainfall advisory hoisted over N. Luzon

(Eagle News)–A rainfall advisory has been hoisted over Northern Luzon. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said light  to moderate rains are being experienced in Baler, Casiguran, Dingalan and Dilasag in Aurora; Alfonso, Castaneda in Nueva Vizcaya; and in Diffun in Quirino. (Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Sur early Thursday, July 18. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, an aftershock of the 5.5-magnitude quake in the province on July 13,  hit 14 kilometers southwest of Carrascal at 2:52 a.m. The quake, of tectonic origin, had a depth of focus of 5 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
