Rains to prevail in parts of PHL as southwest monsoon affects Luzon

(Eagle News)–Rains are expected in parts of the country on Saturday, July 20, as the southwest monsoon affects Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said monsoon rains will prevail  over the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Apayao, Abra, Benguet, Mt.Province, Ifugao, Kalinga, Batanes and the Babuyan group of Islands.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers and isolated thunderstorms,on the other hand, are expected over   Aurora, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya and the rest of Cagayan.

Moderate to strong winds coming from the Southwest will prevail over Northern Luzon and in Aurora Province with moderate to very rough seas.

Meanwhile, a thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over some areas near Metro Manila.

PAGASA said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Zambales, Pampanga, and #Tarlac within the next 2 hours.

Heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Bagac, Bataan so far.

“All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides,” the weather bureau said.
