3.7-magnitude earthquake strikes off Zamboanga del Norte

(Eagle News)–A 3.7-magnitude earthquake struck off Zamboanga del Norte on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 34 kilometers northwest of Labason at 5:50 a.m. Depth of focus was 26 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

3.4-magnitude quake hits Catanduanes

(Eagle News)–A 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Catanduanes on Saturday, Sept. 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 9 kilometers northeast of Panganiban at 8:24 a.m. Depth of focus was 11 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.    

5.0-magnitude quake strikes off Catanduanes

(Eagle News)–A 5.0-magnitude earthquake struck off Catanduanes early Saturday, Sept. 21. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit off 51 kilometers northeast of Panganiban at 2:04 a.m. Depth of focus was 31 kilometers. An instrumental intensity II was recorded in Legazpi. There was no damage to property but aftershocks were recorded.

Yellow rainfall warning hoisted over Zambales

(Eagle News)–A yellow rainfall warning has been hoisted over Zambales. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the warning, which means flooding is possible in low-lying areas and near river channels,  was over Cabangan, Botolan, Iba, Palauig, Masinloc, Candelaria and Santa Cruz in particular. PNP: PMA cadet Dormitorio died of injuries sustained from hazing

(Eagle News)–A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Friday, Sept. 20. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 256 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 3:09 a.m. Depth of focus was 131 kilometers. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

Thunderstorm advisory hoisted over parts of Mindanao

(Eagle News)–A thunderstorm advisory has been hoisted over parts of Mindanao. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over Agusan del Norte and Lanao del Sur within 1 to 2 hours. (Eagle News)–A 3.3-magnitude earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Thursday, Sept. 19. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 110 kilometers southeast of Sarangani at 7:57 a.m. Depth of focus was one kilometer. No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 19 kilometers northeast of Paluan at 6:55 a.m. Depth of focus was 12 kilometers. Updated: 20 people, including children, killed after truck falls off cliff in S. Cotabato

  (Eagle News)–Twenty people, including children, were killed on Tuesday, Sept. 17, after the truck they were on fell off a cliff in South Cotabato.
